Anthony Dyson (priest)
Professor Anthony Oakley Dyson (6 October 1935 – 19 September 1998) was a priest in the Church of England and Professor of Social and Pastoral Theology, Manchester University 1980–1998.[1]
Career
He was educated at William Hulme's Grammar School, Manchester and Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
He was ordained priest in 1962.
He was appointed:
- Chaplain of Ripon College Cuddesdon 1963 – 1969
- Principal of Ripon College Cuddesdon 1969 - 1974
- Canon Theologian at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle 1974 – 1977[2]
- Lecturer in Theology, University of Kent at Canterbury 1977 – 1980
- Professor of Social and Pastoral Theology, Manchester University 1980 – 1998.
