Anthony Mason (journalist)

Anthony Mason (born 23 June 1956 in New York) is senior correspondent for business and economics for CBS news.[1] He has been a correspondent with CBS since 1986.[2] He is News-Anchor for the weekday edition of CBS This Morning and Co-Anchor of CBS This Morning Saturday alongside Vinita Nair.

Career

Mason has reported from more than 30 countries for CBS. He has been working in New York since 1993. He contributed award-winning coverage of the 1991 Soviet coup attempt from Moscow.[3]

Awards

In 1985, Mason won the New York Associated Press award for General Excellence of Individual Reporting on Vietnam veterans. He also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement by a reporter and the Pennsylvania Associated Press Award for best feature story.[3]

Education

Mason obtained his B.A. in English with a minor in government from Georgetown University in 1980.[3]

Family

Mason is married to Christina Anne Unhoch and together they have one daughter and one son. The family reside in Westchester County, New York.[3]

Mason also has one daughter from a previous marriage to advice columnist Amy Dickinson (1986-1990).
