Aoi HonŠ(アオイホノオ, lit. "Blue Blazes") is a Japanese coming-of-age manga series written and illustrated by Kazuhiko Shimamoto. It is a fictionalized account of his time as a student at the Osaka University of Arts, which he attended alongside Hideaki Anno, Hiroyuki Yamaga, and Takami Akai.[1] It was adapted into a Japanese television drama that aired in July 2014 and ended in October 2014.[2]

Reception
It received 23 points in the 3rd Manga TaishÅ, placing last among the ten nominees.[3]
In February 2015, Asahi Shimbun announced that Aoi HonÅ was one of nine nominees for the nineteenth annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.[4]
Sales
Volume 2 sold 24,521 copies by 17 May 2009,[5] volume 9 sold 20,415 copies by 18 November 2012,[6] and volume 10 sold 17,068 copies by 16 June 2013.[7]
