The Burdur toothcarp (Aphanius sureyanus) is a species of freshwater fish in the Cyprinodontidae family. It is endemic to Lake Burdur in Turkey. It feeds mainly on an endemic copepod Arctodiaptomus burduricus. Water loss of Lake Burdur threatens them since the feeds into the lake are being dammed, water is being taken from the lake, and a reduction in rainfall due to the area's climate change. This has been a continue threat to the fish since the suitability of the water has become less desirable especially with its increased salinity levels.[1]
