History

Season 1

Brief role in Pilot episode

Aphrodite appeared briefly as one of the doctors in the hospital after Renos' accident in the Pilot episode, however she was not important to the scene had no speaking lines. Her role became prominent in Season 2.

Season 2

Relationship with Hector

Aphrodite Aperyi returned to Athens late last year with her much older and ill husband and former teacher, Yerassimos Papadatos. The career driven heart surgeon immediately hit a wall with fellow heart surgeon, Ektoras Anagnostou and it was soon discovered the two were both former students of Yerassimos Papadatos back 10 years ago in London and Aphrodite had an unrequited attraction then for Ektoras.

A twist of fate sees the two head to the city of Love, Paris for a medical conference where the topic of their past comes up and the two realise they are in love. Embarking on a torrid affair, both are riddled with guilt upon their return due to their respect for Aphrodite's husband and their former teacher, Yerassimos.

After an attempt at suicide on Yerassimo's behalf, Aphrodite makes the painful decision to give up Ektora and stay beside her ill husband till his death. However, fate deals them another twist when Aphrodite finds herself pregnant with Ektora's child. Unable to hide their affair any longer, Aphrodite braves Yerassimo and admits to her adultery.

Yerasimos' suicide

Unbeknownst to Aphrodite, Yerassimo is pure evil and is plotting his suicide to frame both Aphrodite and her beloved Ektora. After taking Aphrodite to Antigoni's Resort in Sounio he admits the truth then falls to his death, framing Aphrodite for his murder.

Jailed life

Pregnant and thrown in jail, Aphrodite fights for her freedom and to prove her innocence. After months in jail, Aphrodite is finally found not guilty and freed to live her life with Ektoras. However, things have changed, Aphrodite is being threatened by fellow inmates after large amounts of money, fighting Angellos Papadatos (Yerassimo's son) for her share of her late husbands money, continuously feeling threatened by Ektora's close relationship with his ex-wife, Mirto Anagnostou as well as trying to convince Ektoras daughter, Eva that she is not guilty of the crime Eva's friends are teasing her about at school.

Release from jail and relationship problems

Things go from bad to worse in the relationship of Aphrodite and Ektora after her release from jail when she overhears Ektora telling Mirto that he would have left Aphrodite long ago had she not been pregnant and he doesn't feel the same way about her anymore. Aphrodite decides to leave Athens for good for the safety of her baby and herself, leaving Ektora a note which ends up being intercepted by her blackmailer, Apostolia.

Flee to London and relationship with Angelle

Stressed and alone, Aphrodite runs into Angelle at the airport who convinces her to stay with him for a couple of days and relax. After finally mending their relationship she begins to trust him and in turn Angelle goes to Ektora with the news that while in London a week before getting together with Ektora, Aphrodite had IVF which could be the result of her pregnancy. Ektora is left heartbroken and Aphrodite left free to leave without worrying Ektora will find her or want her anymore.

Since leaving, Aphrodite has given birth to a baby boy, hiding him from Ektora and developed a very close relationship with Angelle, who is in love with Aphrodite and her child and is awaiting her soon return to Athens. It remains to be seen how Aphrodite will take in person to Angelle's love for her, if she will feel the same and the two will be together or how her return will impact on Ektora, if he still loves her and if he will convince her to tell the truth about their child's paternity.

Upon returning to Greece, Aphrodite initially leaves her son, then unnamed in London with his nanny, Gloria. In an effort to remove Ektora as well as ruin his life, she eventually has him quit his job at the hospital and believe that Aphrodite and Angelle are in a relationship together. Once establishing that Athens is safe for her son to live she organises for the baby to be moved to Greece to live with her and Angelle. After much pressure from Angelle to become a couple, Aphrodite finally accepts his marriage proposal.

The season ends with Aphrodite and Angelo, boarding Myrtle's birthday cruise.

Season 3

Angelle's death

At the start of Season 3 Aphrodite finds Angelo dead in the pool, and she has now temporarily moved to London while an enquiry into his death is taking place. She has continued to appear in flashbacks and phonecalls as the season progresses and is constantly mentioned in conversation by Hector and Mirto.

Hector and Aphrodite Murder Plan

On the night of the murder, Aphrodite made contact with Hector. She told the private investigator that she met with him to tell him that her baby is his, before she left for London. However, it is suspected that Aphrodite and Hector collaborated to murder Angelle.
