Appalachian Search and Rescue Conference
The Appalachian Search & Rescue Conference (ASRC) is a wilderness search and rescue 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides professional volunteers trained in search management and field operations for missions in the mid-Atlantic region.[1] Services include:
- All weather search and rescue of missing persons and downed aircraft
- Complete search and rescue management capabilities
- Trained ground search teams of all levels
- Specialized search resources
- Technical rescue specialists
- Specialized wilderness medical personnel
- Safety and survival education[1]
The conference comprises individual groups of professional volunteers who dedicate extensive amounts of time for rigorous training, search missions, group functions, preventative instruction, and public awareness. The ASRC maintains a website at www.asrc.net

- Maryland Search and Rescue - Columbia, MD
- Mountaineer Area Rescue Group - Morgantown, WV
- Potomac Valley Search and Rescue - College Park, MD
- Shenandoah Mountain Rescue Group - Vienna, VA
- Southwest Virginia Mountain Rescue Group - Blacksburg, VA
- Rapid Assistance to Community Emergencies - Columbus, OH
