Ar de Rock (Air of Rock) is Rui Veloso's debut album released in 1980. More than just a revelation by the singer-composer Rui Veloso and a lyricist Carlos Tê, Ar de Rock it was one of the albums which partly captured the zeitgeist of the time.
The album features eleven singles, two were successful singles including "Chico Fininho" and "A Rapariguinha do Shopping" which gave commercial success in Portuguese Rock which made other numerous musicians of the time. In 2000, some of the singles were recorded by other artists in the tribute album 20 anos depois - Ar de Rock.[1]
Recording
The album was recorded and mixed for three days at RPE Studios in Lisbon in 1980. Ar de Rock was the epicenter of Portuguese rock.[2]
