Ara is a census town in Hazaribag district in the state of Jharkhand, India.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Ara had a population of 14,181. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Ara has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 63% of the males and 37% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
