Ara Paiaya is a British filmmaker. He is known for directing and producing independent feature films for the worldwide mainstream market. Ara Paiaya is also a director of photography (cinematographer), film editor and a fight choreographer. He is best known for the film Skin Traffik starring Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, Gary Daniels, Dominique Swain, Alan Ford and Jeff Fahey.[1][2][3][4][5]

Career

Ara Paiaya is a filmmaker and a martial artist, who has been making action movies since 2001. He has been directing, producing and co-starring in films with Oscar nominated actors, Golden Globe winners and BAFTA winners. In his early movies between 2001–2011 as the lead star Ara Paiaya was best known for his acrobatic fighting style, improvised weapons and stunt sequences, which he typically performs himself. As well as directing he's served as actor, producer, cinematographer, writer, fight choreographer and editor on his films.[6][7][8]

Paiaya directed, produced, filmed, edited, action directed and co-starred in the 2015 action film Skin Traffik starring Gary Daniels (The Expendables), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Dominique Swain (Lolita), Alan Ford (Snatch) and Jeff Fahey (Machete). The film was a commercial success and was distributed worldwide. Paiaya then followed up with the action film Instant Death in 2016 starring Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk). A brutal "revenge flick" in the cinematic traditions of Vigilante films, Kung Fu films and Spaghetti Westerns. Ara Paiaya has several upcoming projects in development.[9]
