Arash (gun)

An Arash (Persian: تفنگ ارش)[1] is a semi-automatic firearm designed for targeting larger objects such as bunkers, helicopters and military vehicles. It is commonly used by the armed forces of Iran, Hezbollah and the Iraqi army.

The Iranian Army developed the Arash rifle in 2013. It is equipped with a scope and stand for long distance accuracy, used primarily for military and civilian vehicle targets. The Arash rifle can be shot from the shoulder. The design is similar to an Rocket-propelled grenade launcher, but with improved scope accuracy.

The rifle uses a 20mm high explosive incendiary round. The rifle includes a ballistic computer, detachable scope mount, trigger, pistol grip, carry handle and stock. The Us and UK use this weapon on a motorcycle with two individuals, one as a driver and another shooter.

The Arash weapon can destroy targets from land and water within 1,800 meters. One operator stated, "The 20-mm shoulder-launched missile is an anti-chopper weapon which can hit targets from a distance of 1,400 meters". The Arash Rifle is also used in helicopters as a side weapon.
