The German machine construction company ARBURG GmbH + Co. KG makes injection moulding machines of small and medium clamping forces. The machine range with clamping forces of between 125 and 5000 kN and the corresponding peripherals are used in the production of plastic parts for the automotive sector, for communication and entertainment electronics, for medical technology, domestic appliances and in the packaging industry, for example. Arburg's product range also includes modular robotic systems, complex project tasks and other machine peripherals.
Arburg is represented by its own organisations at 32 locations in 24 countries and by trading partners in more than 50 countries. However, production takes place exclusively in the parent factory in Lossburg, Germany. From a total of around 2,200 Arburg employees, around 1,840 work in Germany. About 360 further employees work in Arburg’s organisations around the world. In 2012, the turnover of the Hehl Group, with its international subsidiaries, amounted to 488 million euros.
Applications
Apart from the standard processes, the company portfolio includes special equipment versions for thermoset, elastomer and silicone processing, gas injection moulding technology (GIT), the MuCell® process, encapsulation inserts and multi-component injection moulding. Arburg supplies special machine configurations for the specialist area of powder materials (PIM).
