Archibald "Archie" Taylor (28 November 1879 – 1966) was Scottish professional football full back, who played North and South of the border for Dundee, Falkirk, West Ham United, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley.[1]
Club career
Taylor captained the Barnsley team who won the FA Cup in 1912,[2] beating West Bromwich Albion in a replay after the first match ended goalless.[3] The Manchester Guardian, when reporting on the first match noted that he kept Albion winger Jephcott in check.[3] In the replay his play was again praised.[4] Earlier in his career he won the FA Cup with Bolton Wanderers in 1904.[5]
