Aria Networks is a business that makes network planning and design software for the telecommunications industry.[1]

Company

Aria Networks is a private-equity funded company that was established in 2005. Aria Networks is an independent and network agnostic software service provider for network operators, datacentres and high traffic internet services. The company’s core solution is based on sophisticated artificial intelligence technology, to help service providers to efficiently plan and manage, enabling optimised use of resources, accurate planning for upgrades and real time analysis and resolution of hardware failures. [2][3] Aria Networks’ customers include some of the largest global internet companies

Products

Network Planning and Optimisation Solution Suite

Aria Networks developed a suite of software tools for effective real time network planning and optimisation of capacity across networks and data centres. These tools build the real time, predictive software engine to run in an offnet mode Operational Maturity Applications as well in an onnet mode Network Maturity Services to enable Service Providers to optimise current infrastructure assets to deliver a more effective service, plan service roll outs to ensure that the right infrastructure is deployed for the current and future levels of demand, leverage the power of big customer data to deliver improved service levels and reduce service failures and plan contingency in case of service outages.

AriaOnline - Cloud based applications suite

Aria Networks is enabling telecommunications, cloud and internet service providers to quickly benefit from virtualisation via a suite of applications available as cloud based solutions from AriaOnline. These applications which enable service providers to visualise, optimise and self-heal any combination of physical and virtual networks.

Solutions

Aria Networks provides set of solutions to service providers such as capacity planning and optimisation to help service providers achieve the maximum utilisation of their networks. In January 2015, they announced their cloud-based applications via AriaOnline to help service providers quickly visualise, optimise and self-heal complex data networks.

The suite of applications:

• Identifies and improves the level of operational maturity that a service provider has achieved: tactical; managed; strategic; quantitatively managed; optimising

• Provides relevant Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for operators that enable them to benefit from virtualisation and automation whatever the level of network complexity and maturity

• Enables service providers for relevant network scenarios including network visualisation, vulnerability analysis, what if scenarios and margin analysis

• Provides the ability to automate the operation, and thereby reduce operating expenditure (Opex) for operation, maintenance and planning activities, targeting self-optimization, self-testing and self-healing of single and multi-layer networks

Aria Networks enables service providers to ensure that network optimisation sits in the orchestration layer of a software defined network (SDN), delivering predictive and real time insight and automation to:

• Ensure that the network is always performing to the optimal level and is delivering a reliable and effective service to customers.

• Vastly reduce the time to market for new network, datacentre and cloud services and determine the real cost of service delivery

• Integrate capacity planning and optimisation into the control layer of the software defined network, facilitating network self-optimisation

• Fully support the software defined WAN / Data Centre / Internet Exchange

• Migrate towards universal cloud resource management

• Migrate from a stateless Path Computation Element (PCE), via a stateful passive PCE all the way to a stateful active PCE

• Support heterogeneous network structures (HetNet) and ease the migration towards full SDN architectures

Aria Networks’ suite of network services, provides the capability to:

• Managing Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) rollout in a network that are providing functionality in a virtualised/software manner on COTS compute servers (i.e. bare metal or hypervisor based) to enable networks to confidently deliver service levels and predict future demand

• Manage Virtual Network Functions (VNF) such as firewalls, access controls and policy management to more effectively automate and optimise networks

• Deliver an overview of network service chains to help more efficiently route traffic as part of Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO)

• With the concept of abstraction the VNF and service chains can be made to look like a traditional network modelled using Aria Networks’ applications to improve the network maturity index to its highest level

• Enable a clear and effective upgrade path towards a Self-Optimised Network (SON)
