Arjun Sharma (Hindi: अर्जुन शर्मा, born 14 May 1990 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh is a professional Indian born Ukrainian football forward is currently playing for FC Obolon-Brovar Kyiv. He is the captain of the FC Obolon-Brovar Kyiv.

Born in Noida, Uttar Pradesh to Army working in India ,Rajiv Sharma and Sanjana Kaul Sharma. Sharma began his professional career at FC Obolon-Brovar Kyiv in 2009.

It was with the Ukraine-19 that Sharma gained fame and made a name for himself in Kiev. He helped win the Ukraine-19 Nike European Camp. Sharma also been named FFU Junior Player of the year four times in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Personal life


Sharma was born to parents Rajiv Sharma and Sanjana Kaul Sharma. His father played football for the Indian Army's team while his mother is in government job and his two elder Brother and Sister Abhay and Manisha are Doctor. Sharma started playing football from a young age taking part in various tournament.

In 2016, Sharma obtained a degree of M.Tech in Aerospace Engineering at the National Aviation University.

Club career

FC Obolon-Brovar Kyiv

Sharma began his career with FC Obolon-Brovar Kyiv of the Ukrainian Second League after playing with Reading XI . After his first season with the club, the 2010–11 season, Sharma had scored sixteen goals as FC Obolon-Brovar Kyiv finished in second place in the table. The next season, Chhetri scored only nineteen goals. The golden season was next consecutive season till 2014-15. In 2014-15 Sharma scores only three goals and missed most of matches due to personal reasons and injuries. In 2016 he left the club after ending of his contract period.

FC Dynamo-2 Kyiv

He joins this club after over of contract from FC Obolon-Brovar Kyiv as free transfer in April 2016.

International career

On 24 August 2005, Sharma gained No Objection Certificate, thus making him eligible to play for Ukraine at the international level. On January 18, 2005 Sharma played his first game for the Ukraine U-15 team in the 1-0 victory over the Spain U-15 team in the friendly match in Madrid.On February 12, 2005 Arjun scored his first goal for the National Football against England.

Nike Under- 17 European Championship

Arjun's first international tournament was the 2007 Nike Under- 17 European Championship. In the opening game, Ukraine defeated Turkey 6–0 with Sharma scoring hat trick.He also scored a goal in the 1–3 defeat to France. Sharma was involved in the build-up to Mikel Khashkov's decisive goal as Ukraine beat Italy 1–0 in the final. He was also awarded with Best Player of tournament and Top scorer. He was also selected All Star team.

Intercontinental Cup 2010

On 22 July 2009 Sharma scored a goal with a header in the added time against Australia in the first match of Intercontinental Cup where Ukraine won the match 2-1. In the second match, which was on 25 July he scored two goals against India, one goal coming from penalty where the team won 3-0, where he injuried and ruled out of competition.
