The Arlington Fire District is one of 3 fire departments that provides fire and EMS services to the residents of the Town Of Poughkeepsie. Arlington has four fire stations located at numerous ends of the Town. The fire district is staffed with 78 career and 85 Volunteer members.[1] The fire district is one of only two in Dutchess County that have career FF/Paramedics. Career firefighters and officers belong to the IAFF. Arlington's Dutchess County department ID number is "32". Firefighters are dispatched via radio paging by the Dutchess County Department Of Emergency Response who are based in Poughkeepsie.

Emergency Medical Services

The Arlington Fire District provides both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance coverage to the Town of Poughkeepsie. ALS coverage is provided by dual role career Firefighter/Paramedics. BLS coverage is provided by dual role career Firefighter/EMTs. Volunteer Firefighters and EMTs provide ambulance coverage for Ambulance 32-73 located at Station 5, Croft Corners Fire Co, Weekday nights from 5pm to 7am and 24 hours Saturday and Sunday. ALS Mutual Aid is provided through an agreement with the Lagrange Fire District with Back-up Coverage provided by Mobile Life Support Services. Calls are received, and dispatched centrally through the Dutchess County 9-1-1 communications center in Poughkeepsie (Dutchess County Department Of Emergency Response)

Fire Companies

The Arlington Fire District comprises four volunteer fire companies and the career firefighters IAFF union overseen by the Board of Fire Commissioners. The five Fire Commissioners are elected by the registered voters of the fire district for a five-year term with one position up for election each year. The Board is responsible for budgeting and administration of the fire district.

Arlington Engine Co #1

Arlington Engine Co #1 is the volunteer company located at Headquarters. Administratively they are managed by a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Directors. Operationally they are run by a Captain(32-C1), two Fire Lieutenants(32-L11, 32-L12), an EMS Lieutenant(32-R17) and a Fire Police Lieutenant(32-FP101).

Red Oaks Mill Fire Co

Red Oaks Mill Fire Co is the volunteer company located at Station 3. Administratively they are managed by a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Directors. Operationally they are run by a Captain(32-C3), three Fire Lieutenants(32-L31, 32-L32, 32-L33), two EMS Lieutenants(32-R27, 32-R37) and a Fire Police Lieutenant(32-FP301).

Rochdale Fire Co

Rochdale Fire Co is the volunteer company located at Station 4. Administratively they are managed by a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Directors. Operationally they are run by a Captain(32-C4), three Fire Lieutenants(32-L41, 32-L42, 32-L43), an EMS Lieutenant(32-R47) and a Fire Police Lieutenant(32-FP401).

Croft Corners Fire Co

Croft Corners Fire Co is the volunteer company located at Station 5. Administratively they are managed by a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Directors. Operationally they are run by a Captain(32-C5), four Fire Lieutenants (32-L51, 32-L52, 32-L53, 32-L54), two EMS Lieutenants(32-R57, 32-R58) and a Fire Police Lieutenant(32-FP501).

Arlington Professional Fire Fighters Assoc

The Arlington Professional Firefighters Assoc, IAFF Local 2393, is the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local representing the 78 career firefighters, captains and lieutenants of the Arlington Fire District.

Fire district administrative staff

The Fire District Administrative staff consists of the Fire Chief, the EMS Director, the Assistant EMS Director, the District Secretary, the Bookkeeper, the Business Manager and the EMS Secretary.
