Umberto Modiano Airport (IATA: BZC, ICAO: SBBZ) is the airport serving Armação dos Búzios, Brazil.

History

The airport was inaugurated in 2003 and it is presently dedicated to general aviation. In July 11, 2012 the facility was closed for up-grades demanded by the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil.[3]

Since September 1, 2014, the airport started receiving small aircraft such as business jets, air taxis and helicopters.

Name of airport

Umberto Modiano was a businessman who owned the Marina Porto Búzios and the Hotel Nas Rocas and financially supported the emancipation movement of Búzios in or around 1989-1992.[4]

The airport is located 8 km (5 mi) from downtown Búzios.
