Armchair Cynics was a rock band from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada formed in 2000 by Kenn Coutu (vocals/guitar), Adam Sutherland (guitar) Ford Michael Piercey (bass) and Ryan Rae (drums). They recorded a self-released album Coffee-shop Confessions in 2003.[1][2] In 2004 the band signed a recording and development contract with Vancouver based 604 Records. In 2005 they released the EP Killing the Romance distributed by Universal Music Canada.[3] The recording resulted in three singles: "Bang", "Coalmine" and "Surprise Ending". On October 6, 2009, the band released their debut full length album titled Starting Today produced by Dave Genn, and mixed by Mike Fraser.[4] After disbanding, Kenn Coutu started an Alternative Country band called Bucko & Toad with his wife.[5][6]
