Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Bangladesh

This institute was established as a small laboratory designated as Army Pathological Laboratory (APL) in 1951 . In 1974, a new beginning had been made almost from a scratch to meet the growing requirements of medicine and with shortest possible time. APL was re-structured and re-equipped with modern equipment.

Mission

a. To conduct routine specialization courses in pathology for AMC officers.

b. To conduct postgraduate training in different sub-specialties of pathology for AMC officers.

c. To conduct/control all courses pertaining to Medical Laboratory Technology of the Armed Forces according to the existing Manual of Qualification.

d. To conduct research programmes of interest to the Armed Forces in particular and to the nation in general.

e. To provide diagnostic pathology services to the Armed Forces of Bangladesh.

f. To act as central referral lab for the Armed Forces in particular and the nation in general.

g. To coordinate the functions of peripheral labs of the Armed Forces and to exercise tech control over them.
