Army of the Interior
The Army of the Interior (Armée de l'Intérieur) was a name given to two field armies of the French Revolutionary Army. The first existed from 4–22 September 1792 under Anne François Augustin de La Bourdonnaye, eventually evolving into the Army of the Coasts of La Rochelle. The second was formed from 1795–1796 under commanders Jacques-François Menou, Paul Barras, Napoleon Bonaparte and Jacques Maurice Hatry.
