Arriva Poland Sp. z o. o. is a Polish private rail carrier providing services in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Masovian, Pomeranian and Warmian-Masurian voivodships. The company presently belongs to the Deutsche Bahn Group
History
The company was founded in 2007 under the name 'Arriva PCC' as a joint venture between Polish rail carrier PCC Rail SA and the UK public transport operator Arriva Plc. At the end of 2007 the company won the tender to operate all non-electrified passenger lines in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. In 2008 Arriva PCC attempted to expand his operations in order to support new routes in other provinces; subsequently in 2009 it won a tender to operate several rail services in the province of Pomerania. In 2010, passenger services operated by Arriva were started in Warmia and Mazury. In 2010, the Arriva PCC company was bought by the German firm Deutsche Bahn, which in the years 2009-2010 had succeeded in acquiring all the shares in the shareholders PCC Rail SA and Arriva plc. On June 25, 2010 the company changed its name to the present 'Arriva RP'.
