Ashley Food Company
Ashley Food Company was created in 1991 by founder David Ashley, based in Sudbury, Massachusetts.[1] Ashley Food Company is the creator and manufacturer of Mad Dog Hot Sauces. The Ashley Food Company product line contains 28 hot sauces, oils and chile powders and barbecue sauce.
History
In 1998 Mad Dog Inferno Hot Sauce was honored as the first hot sauce ever to have the official title of the World‘s Hottest Sauce, packing 89,900 scoville units.[2]
Mad Cat Hot Sauce won the prestigious 2002 1st Place Scovie award in the Habanero Hot Sauce category.[3]
The original Mad Dog 357 Hot Sauce won a 3rd place 2002 Scovie Award in the Super Hot Sauce Label category.[4]
In 2002 Ashley Food Company manufactured Joe Perry’s Rock Your World Boneyard Brew Hot Sauce. Joe Perry is the lead guitarist for the rock group, Aerosmith.[5][6] Mango-Peach Tango Hot Sauce was the 2nd creation made in 2004.[7]
In August 2003, Ashley once again hooked up with rock royalty, this time teaming up with Grateful Dead legend Bob Weir to take over the distribution and manufacturing of his all-natural Snake Oil and Otherworld cooking sauces benefiting the Further Foundation.[8][9]

In the spring of 2012 Ashley Food Company wanted to be in control of the quality and quantity of the Scorpion peppers and any others they use in their products, so they started growing them in Massachusetts with the help of local greenhouses and an agricultural school.[14]
