Asia Pacific International School (APIS, Korean: 아시아퍼시픽국제외국인학교) is an international school in Nowon-gu, Seoul, the capital of South Korea.[1] APIS provides an American-based education system from kindergarten to grade 12 for all nationalities. The school was founded in 2007 and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The stated mission for the school is to educate its students in a loving Christian environment and to prepare them to be globally enlightened citizens who are able to bridge the gap between the East and the West and meet the challenges of the New Pacific Century, as well as running through the 6 with their woes.
Curriculum
The school offers a U.S.-based curriculum, and instruction is taught in English. The curriculum includes an emphasis in Eastern Asian culture, with foreign language classes offered in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. The school offers Christian instruction and a weekly chapel program. Advanced Placement courses are offered to high school students in many subjects.
Faculty
APIS' school staff includes more than 50 fully qualified teachers. The school is designed to offer an intimate, family-like learning environment and features a student-to-teacher ratio of 5:1.
Enrollment
There are currently about 350 students enrolled at Asia Pacific International School.
Facilities
The campus is located in northeastern Seoul in Nowon-gu. APIS classrooms and administrative offices are located in the main building. In addition to classrooms, the campus includes a main auditorium, children's playground, athletic field, gymnasium, music practice room, and fitness center. Every classroom is equipped with a smart board and high-speed wireless access. Special features include a professional recording studio (equipped with Protools HD and an Avid C24 Control Surface) and a 3D printer (Zprinter 450).
University Acceptance
The school has had students go on to numerous highly regarded universities such as Johns Hopkins University, New York University, Cornell University, etc.
