Assam Combined Entrance Examination
Assam Combined Entrance Examination(অসম সংযুক্ত প্ৰৱেশ পৰীক্ষা)or the Assam-CEE is a state-government controlled centralized test, conducted by the Dibrugarh University for admission to many private and governmental medical and engineering institutions in Assam. The test is taken after the 12th grade for admission to graduation (also known as Bachelors) courses. The exam can be taken by those who studied Pure Science stream in plus two level with the specific subjects tested in the examination, which are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. There are actually two separate tests for medical and engineering, the difference being that the medical test has the Biology paper while the engineering test has the Mathematics paper.
Every year approximately 25 thousand people take the examination and it is increasing. Students of both Assam Higher Secondary Education Council and the central Central Board of Secondary Education board take the test. It's a prestigious test, and there are few students of science stream in Assam who don't take at least one of the two tests.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to appear in the Assam CEE exam, applicants are must to meet with following eligibility criteria :
- Candidates must possess a domicile of Assam state.
- Applicant’s age must be in between 17 to 21 years as on August of that year. 3 years of relaxation in age is specified for reserved category applicants and 1 year for graduate applicants.
- Applicants must have cleared their 12 class examination or other qualifying exam with subjects Physics, English, Chemistry, Maths/Biology and secured at least 50% aggregate marks. Applicants belonging to reserved category are required to secure aggregate 45% marks.

The candidates should note that there are two Courses. Course option 1 and Course option 2, those candidates who are interested in MBBS/BDS are needed to appear in the course option 1 which includes Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates interested in Engineering courses must appear in course option 2 which include Physics, Chemistry and Maths. The candidates applying for the MBBS/BDS and engineering courses must appear in course option 3 which include Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
