Founded in 1990 by Ibrahim Surani, President and CEO,[1] Astera Software offers data integration and extract, transform and load (ETL) software tools for use in data migration, data conversion, data transformation, and data mapping to and from files, XML, EDI, SQL databases, and ODBC sources.[2] The company serves the energy, financial, manufacturing, media and telecommunications and retail industries.[3] Customers range from global enterprises like Wells Fargo Bank, Raymond James Financial, Hewlett Packard Co., Bank of America, and the USDA to smaller organizations.[4]

Products

The company’s flagship product is its Centerprise Data Integrator; a data integration platform that enables organizations to meet various data management needs, such as business-to-business (B2B) data exchange, data migration, application integration, and data warehousing. The company also offers the Centerprise Connector, a solution for Dynamics CRM that enables integration and synchronization with Microsoft Dynamics CRM data with internal and external applications and databases.[5] One of the company’s customers include AutoTrader’s data integration subsidiary, VinSolutions, who began using Centerprise in 2012 because its homegrown ETL process could take up to two months for a developer to do the custom-coding to ensure the accurate capture of data from a new client’s DMS into the VinSolutions network. With Astera, that has been cut to about an hour’s worth of work done by the integration team, which can now include non-developers using the software.[6]

In April 2014, the company announced its Centerprise Rt cloud-based data integration software that allows users to create web services that integrate and share data of any complexity with their partners.[7] Centerprise Rt uses a code-free approach, allowing customers to integrate between cloud-based SaaS and central data infrastructures in real-time using web services and APIs. Centerprise Rt also lets users create and publish dataflows as web services to outside entities to streamline end-to-end processes and workflows and provides on-demand data sharing.[8]
