Asterix were an Indonesia alternative group whose members would later go on to change their name and form the first line-up of V2up. During the band's short-lived time under this name they recorded one album in 2006 and released the single "Andaikan".[1] Hard Rock journalist, Franky Ferdo, noted the group as one of the, "333nine of proto funk."[2]

- ↑ Bore (2005), pg. 14, "333nine of proto funk swelled arrogantly in the music of the Asterix, Sweet Little Sister (from PKU), V2up (from Australia and Indonesia), heavy Krank rockers Guru Guru, the haunting SLS (also on the Navaro label), SLS (from Indonesia), Monank (formed by members of SLS and Sweet's Butterfly), Bang, the relatively gentle Armada, the morbid Texas group Bad Apple Rock, Britain's long-running Budgie, and the Franky produced Bad Apple Rock."
