Athiya Shetty (born 5 November 1992)[2] is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi films of Bollywood. Born to actor Sunil Shetty, she wanted to follow her father's step in acting since a very young age after accompanied him to various shooting locations.

Shetty was born and brought up in Mumbai and she attended American School of Bombay where she was schoolmate with Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.[3] Later, she enrolled at New York Film Academy to study acting in order to fulfil her endeavours as an actress. In 2015, she marked her acting debut in Hero alongside Sooraj Pancholi, produced by Salman Khan Films, the film performed well and collected around ₹33.37 crore (US$5.0 million) nett.[4] Bollywood Hungama give her a fair review ″Athiya Shetty is too decent in her part but will need more time to find her comfort zone.″ [5] Post her debut, she became the brand ambassador of Maybelline New York.[6]
