Athol William Smith (1915-1980) was an Australian rugby league player from the 1940s, a two-time premiership winner and later a coach in New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership.

Athol Smith played seven seasons for the Balmain Tigers between 1939-1945. He was a dual premiership winner with the Tigers, winning both the 1939 and the 1944 grand finals with them. He later coached the club between 1948-1950. [1]

Athol Smith died on 1 December 1980, aged 65. [2]
