Atimi Software is a Canadian software company that develops mobile application software and provides consulting services. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Atimi has roughly 80 employees.

Founded in 2001, Atimi began as a cross-platform desktop application porting and development company. Although Atimi developed and ported for the Macintosh, Microsoft and Linux operating systems, their area of focus has always been the Macintosh operating system.

Atimi first began development of smart phone applications in 2008, when they developed three apps for the launch of the App Store; the New York Times Reader,[2] advertorial for Time Warner’s ‘The Dark Knight’, and the mobile version of Etch A Sketch.

Today, roughly 99% of Atimi's business is mobile application development. Atimi's client list includes; HBO,[3] Best Buy,[4] Postmedia Networks, Macworld, the New York Stock Exchange, Warner Bros., HBO, P90X (Beachbody), the Chicago Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators, Toronto FC, and the BC Lions.

Orchard Framework

Atimi provides its clients with the development framework called Orchard.[5] Orchard provides a quick way to implement some of the most commonly used features of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch apps. Regular updates are provided by Atimi for Orchard.

Macworld Daily Reader

The app brings everything about Apple onto the iPad. It is a combination of both the magazine and web, i.e., magazine can be read real time using this app.[6]

HBO

HBO Boardwalk Empire app gives an inside look at the making of a series and has galleries which takes users behind-the-scenes with the series' creators, cast, and crew. It also has an interactive control wheel to watch the new videos, which are added each week.[7]

Best Buy

The app provides ways to shop for the latest and greatest technology. It has product catalog to compare products specs & technology.[8]

Chicago Blackhawks

This app gives instant access to scores, head-to-head match ups, exclusive photo galleries, behind-the-scenes video from the games, social media feeds, message boards, game schedule, statistics and standings.[9]

New York Times

Atimi developed the initial app with the New York Times creating all updates and maintenance work. This app gives offline and online reading convenience of content from all sections of The Times, including blogs and breaking news. Videos and slide shows are located within articles and in the new Video and Photos sections. Frequently visited sections or blogs can be bookmarked and articles can be saved in the favorites' section. Also, articles, photos and videos can be shared through Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.[10]

Postmedia

Postmedia Network offers 10 different newspaper apps – Calgary Herald,[11] Edmonton Journal,[12] Ottawa Citizen,[13] Montreal Gazette,[14] Regina Leader-Post,[15] Saskatoon StarPhoenix,[16] Vancouver Sun,[17] Vancouver Province,[18] Victoria Times Colonist[19] and Windsor Star.[20] The apps combine stories, photos and videos to create an interactive reading experience for iPad users. In each edition in-depth local, national and international coverage on topics that matter the most are covered.[21]

Steven was previously Director of Business Development for Infowave Software's[22] Imaging division, a technology company based in Vancouver, Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia.
