The Auburndale TECO Trail is a 6.5 mile multi-use path in Auburndale, Florida. The Southern terminus of the trail is at Denton Avenue, just East of Berkley Road and directly South of the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. At the northern terminus, the trail joins the Van Fleet Trail in Polk City, Florida. Plentiful parking is available at both trailheads. The route is almost completely flat, with an ascent of less than 5 feet.[1] The trail is approximately 12 feet wide and was constructed on an abandoned railway right-of-way.[2] The path is maintained by Polk County in cooperation with TECO Energy. The trail is sometimes referred to as the Van Fleet Trail extension.[3] Future plans include connecting the trail to the Hilochee Wildlife Management area.[4]
