Austin Washington (born September 26, 1985 in Spokane, Washington) is an American soccer player who most recently played for Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer.
Career
College and amateur
Washington attended Joel E Ferris High School[1] and played college soccer at Whitworth University before transferring to Gonzaga University. He helped Gonzaga reach NCAA Tournament in 2007 for first time since 2001, and was named to the All-WAC Second Team that same year. During his college years Washington also played for Spokane Shadow, Boulder Rapids Reserve and Spokane Spiders in the USL Premier Development League.
Professional
Washington was drafted in the fourth round (54th overall) of the 2008 MLS SuperDraft by Chicago Fire. He was sent on loan to the Cleveland City Stars in early 2009.[2]
