The Australian Melanoma Research Foundation is not-for-profit charity in Australia which "provide[s] funding for research and education into the causes, prevention and cure of Melanoma and Skin Cancer."[1] The Foundation Development Executive is former olympian and champion basketballer Rachael Sporn.[2] The Research Director is Brendon Coventry,[2] whose work on a melanoma vaccine and the immune cycle has been widely reported on in Australian news media.[3][4][5]

The Foundation provides many services to the public, include a daily measurement of UV levels in Australian cities.[6]

Fundraising activities

Beginning in 2014, the Foundation has participated in the Melanoma March in March which aims to raise money and public awareness by conducting annual coastal walks with sporting celebrities.[7]

The Foundation receives contributions from across the globe, such as the 2014 white Christmas icing event in the United Kingdom.[8][9] The foundation was also supported by competitors from the 2014 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.[10]
