Avgusta
Avgusta (Russian: ÐÌвгуÑта or ÐвгуÌÑта) is a Russian Christian first name,[1] the female form of the male first name Avgust.[2] It is derived from the Latin word Augusta, meaning sacred, and was used as an honorific in ancient Rome.[1] Its colloquial forms and diminutives include Ava (ÐÌва), Gusta (ГуÌÑта), Gustya (ГуÌÑÑ‚Ñ), Ustya (УÌÑÑ‚Ñ), Gusya (ГуÌÑÑ), Gutya (ГуÌÑ‚Ñ), and Aga (ÐÌга).[2]
"Avgusta" is also a colloquial form of the female first name Avgustina and a diminutive of the male first name Avgustin.[2]
