Avinash Pol

Dr. Avinash Pol is a dental surgeon from the village Beblewadi near Satara, Maharashtra, India. He is known for his works in rural areas in Satara. Pol adopted villages in Satara district to turn them into clean abodes. He has been awarded the Nirmal Gram award by the president of India.

While giving the award, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam asked him, "While cleaning the teeth of people, how come you started cleaning the villages?".

He has also received the Dr. Anita Avachat award by Muktangan. This award is presented to those who have shown courage to fight in the face of life’s complex situations.[1]
