Axia Public Relations is a public relations company founded in 2002. Its president and CEO is Jason Mudd.

History

Mudd formed Axia Public Relations in 2002 originally as Jason Mudd & Associates Public Relations and Marketing. Mudd, a journalism graduate of the University of Missouri, founded Jason Mudd & Associates after working for several organizations. The name of the firm changed in 2004 to Axia Public Relations and Marketing, and the firm would remove the term marketing from its name.[1] Axia started with an office on Amelia Island, then expanding into Jacksonville.[2] In 2006 it opened a second branch in Tallahassee, Florida.[3] Between 2004 and 2005, Axia increased its revenues by four times, leading PRWeek to name Mudd one of the US PR industry's "ten rising stars".[4] Axia opened additional branches in Orlando and Tampa and then its first office outside of Florida in Atlanta, Georgia, and has begun expansion plans for other US markets.[5]

Business overview

Axia provides public relations counsel and services to clients in the US. In addition to PR and marketing, Axia is also involved in crisis management for its clients.[6][7][8][9] In August 2005 the company's Super Bowl campaign for Modis was awarded the 2005 Golden Image Award from the Florida Public Relations Association.[10] In November 2007, O'Dwyer's PR Report profiled Axia in its annual high-tech public relations issue.[11] In 2008 Axia consulted on the finding of a new main sponsor for the then-Bausch & Lomb Championships (now the MPS Group Championships).[12] Its clients have included Brightway Insurance, Fidelity National Information Services (FIS), the Gate River Run, Miller Lite, Modis, American Cancer Society, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and Verizon.[4][13][14]

Publishing and media

In 2006, Axia started its business blog, which includes "national marketing tips and trends" according to the Florida Times-Union.[15][16] Axia's employees have been interviewed in the past regarding current events within the public relations industry.[17][18][19][20]
