Azekel Adesuyi, who uses the mononymous stage name Azekel, is a British singer-songwriter, musician and producer from East London.[1]Azekel has released two solo EPs: Circa, (2013)[2] and Raw, Vol. 1, (2015)[3] and is currently working on Raw, Vol. 2.[4]

Career

2012- 2013: That Feeling X A Song to an Unborn Child

Released on 25 February 2013. That Feeling and A Song to an Unborn Child was well-received and attracted attention from a plethora of publications such as Pigeons and Planes,[5] and Soul Train.[6] That Feeling, was produced by Azekel, whilst A Song to an Unborn Child was produced by Nexphase of Tastemaker Music.

2013- 2014: Circa EP

On 28 October 2013, "Circa EP" was released digitally, on Thunderlightning Recordings.[7] The EP, again was received well and gained positive reviews from various music publications, such as Pitchfork,[8] and was scored 9/10 by Canada's leading source for new music Exclaim!.[9]

2015: Raw, Vol. 1

Raw, Vol. 1 was released digitally on iTunes via Thunderlightning Recordings on 21 June 2015. It includes the lead singles New Romance, Mad About The Boy, & Chronophobia, and can be downloaded on iTunes and Amazon. New Romance gained national wide radio play, and has been supported by a variety of blogs and Artists, most notably Bastille[10] & Prince (musician).[11]

Collaboration with Massive Attack

Azekel collaborated with the Bristol trip hop group Massive Attack, as he is featured on the title track of their new EP, Ritual Spirit released on 28 January 2016.[12]
