Azorean Maritime Heritage Society

The Azorean Maritime Heritage Society is a U.S nonprofit organization promoting the historical contributions of Azorean sailors and whaleboat builders to the U.S. whaling industry. Founded in 1997 and based in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the Society maintains the Azorean Whaleman Gallery at the New Bedford Whaling Museum and hosts the Azorean Whaling Boats Regatta on the Charles River during the annual Boston Portuguese Festival.[1][2]
