Azura (diocese)
Azura was a town in the Roman province of Numidia, located near present-day Henchir-Loulou, Algeria.
Bishopric
As a bishopric, Azura was represented by the Catholic bishop Victor at the Conference of Carthage of 411 between Catholic and Donatist bishops. Its bishop Leporius was among the Catholic bishops whom the Arian Vandal king Huneric summoned to Carthage in 484 and then exiled.[1][2][3][4]
No longer a residential bishopric, Azura is today listed by the Catholic Church as a titular see.[5]
