Back to the River is the seventh studio album by blues musician Susan Tedeschi, released October 28, 2008, on Verve Forecast. Production was handled by Tedeschi herself. Upon its debut, Back to the River received favorable reviews from music critics, including a four out of five star review from Allmusic. The album would peak at number one on the Billboard Top Blues Albums. Tedeschi was nominated for the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album, which is her fifth Grammy nomination to date, but she lost the award to her husband, Derek Trucks.[2]
