Balesar Satan is a village in Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, India. It is a panchayat village[1] and headquarters of the Balesar tehsil.

There are two villages in the Balesar Sattan gram panchayat: Balesar Satan and Amrit Nagar.[2]

Geography

Balesar is located in the Thar Desert at an elevation of 230 meters above mean sea level.[3] The village is on National Highway 114 between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.[4]

Demographics

In the 2001 India census, the village of Balesar Satan reported 9,552 inhabitants with 5,087 (53.3%) being male and 4,465 (46.7%) being female, for a gender ratio of 878 females per thousand males.[5]
