Baltia Airlines
Baltia is an American company based at New York JFK airport and Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It plans to operate a flight between New York JFK airport and St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport. It is a traded company in OTC Markets.
Founded in 1989, Baltia is still in the process of being a start-up, making it the longest living 'airline' start-up in history.
History
Baltia was founded by Igor Dmitrowsky, a Latvian-born US-based entrepreneur. He acted as both the company's CEO and president, the company wants to open up its inaugural route from New York to Saint Petersburg in Russia.[1]
Russell Thal, Baltia’s executive Vice President, is currently acting President. Igor Dmitrowsky forwent his CEO job at the end of 2015[2] before being charged by US Securities and Exchange Commission.[3]
