Bandarban Sadar (Bengali: বান্দরবন সদর) is an Upazila of Bandarban District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh.[1]

Geography

Bandarban Sadar is located at 22°14′00″N 92°11′30″E / 22.2333°N 92.1917°E / 22.2333; 92.1917 . It has 9,981 individual households and a total area of 501.99 km².

Demographics

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Bandarban Sadar has a population of 49,711. Males constitute 56.07% of the population, and females 43.93%. Bandarban Sadar had an average literacy rate of 34.5% , compared to the national average of 32.4%.[2]
