Bantkhani

Bantkhani is a village in Alwar district of Rajasthan state in India with a population of around 3000.

Bantkhani is 12 km south from National Highway No-8 (NH 8) from Behror. It is connected with all major metro cities of India like New Delhi 115 km, Gurgaon 84 km, Jaipur 132 km by National Highways of India. Indira Gandhi International Airport New Delhi is 110 km from this village and nearest railway station Bawal has a distance of only 24 km.

There is a small temple in village known as Syoh Maharaj and a shyam baba mandir. Bantkhani is surrounded by many village like Barrod, Kolila -sanga, Dhughera, Hamjapur, Dehmi. One of the major tourist and industrial spot of the area; Neemrana is just 3 km from this village. And Barrod is just 3 km from this village and In 2013 rajasthan budget government plan a special investment zone in bantkhani and kolila joga. Bantkhani is a Yadav/Yaduvanshi Ahirs majority village with around 96 percent of total population. Most of the yadavs belong to Kholdia & Bhatotia gotra which is one of the Yadav gotra with about 46 other villages. The martyr assistant commandant Krishan kumar yadav belong to this village. The stachu of martyr K.K Yadav is situated on entrance of the village. Education

The village is well known for its education. In this village there is one government school and one private school. The education standard is very high. There is a very good environment for study. Many students achieve their goals like some are doctors, engineers and in defence services. After complete secondary education most students go to Alwar and Jaipur for further higher education.

Culture

Culture of this area has a vast influence of Haryana. Main speaking language is Rath, as of most of the Rath area. It seems very much closer to Haryanvi. Bantkhani is a village of 100% Hindu population, hence the culture involves all Hindu festivals and rituals. All villagers go to the temple of Maa Mansa Devi dhami once a year. Today people are more advanced and they forget their culture but in village Bantkhani all people fellow their elders and do not forget their culture. An old temple of lord shiv is located centrally in the village. Recently on 28 April 2011 a temple of shyamji open by all villagers. It is situated in south-east section of the village. In Hinduism, Khatushyamji is a name and manifestation of Barbarika, son of Ghatotkacha. This manifestation is especially popular in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The original Sanskrit name Barbarīka is often replaced in Rajasthan by the Hindi version, Barbarīk, often written as Barbareek.Barbarika had obtained a boon from Krishna to the effect that he would be known by Krishna's own name (Shyam) in the Kaliyuga era (presently ongoing) and worshipped. Krishna had declared that Barbarika's devotees would be blessed just by pronouncing his name from the bottom of their hearts. Their wishes would be granted and troubles removed if they worship Shyamji (Barbarika) with a true piety.the temple is architecturally rich lime mortar,marbles & tiles have been used in constructing the structure.there is an open space in front of the entrance gate of the temple.hundreds of devotees visit the temple everyday.

Annual cricket competition

Since 2006 Bantkhani is hosting an annual multi-team cricket event in remembrance of martyr K.K Yadav (competition)". Started with 12 teams in the first year it is gaining more reputation each year and more than 21 teams took part in 2009. This takes place in the secondary school play ground known as geonvali school playground. Usually this event starts a few days before Diwali with a Final on the great festival of light. Sh. Udhisthir Yadav brother of K.K Yadav and his family take all the responsibilities related with this competition including expenses and other preparations. This year 28 teams took part in 2010.

Economy

Earlier, economy of Bantkhani was based mainly on agriculture but in current years people are becoming less interested into it. Main reasons of that are decreasing land size and ground water table, increasing population, less income from it etc. Nowadays major contributing factors of economy of this village are government and industrial jobs, business, agriculture etc. Vicinity of various industrial hubs like Gurgaon, Shahajahanpur, Neemrana, Behror, Bhiwadi, khushkhera, Alwar is providing jobs to many working hands. This is in turn resulting in a higher family income and living standards. The village have more land as compare to other villages in this area. That is why 50% of the population is now engaged in agriculture. Some people are milkmen. At the last we can say that economy of village Bantkhani is too good as compared to other village.

History

Though there are no clear proof available but it is believed that Bantkhani was founded in 1733 by a person named udhay bhan with his two sons they were came from village ulahri. Firstly Bantkhani was in Patyala Reyasat and after some time Bantkhani was under Neemrana emperor. At last in 1740 Bantkhani was under in Alwar emperor. In 1740 this village named in paper as Bantkhani that was a story of name of village. The Udhay Bhan who was firstly came in here and lived there with his two sons. After some period the child was born whose name is Pop Singh. Sh. Pop Singh Yadav had two children one of them Mangal Singh Yadav and other one is Bhura Singh Yadav. Sh. Bhura Singhh Yadav had one daughter and Sh. Mangal Singh had one son named Donga Ram Yadav. After some years Sh. Donga Ram Yadav had three children name are following.

  3. Sh. Brij Lal Yadav
