Barbro Holmberg (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈbarbroː ˈhɔlmˈbærj]; born April 7, 1952) is a Swedish Social Democratic politician. On October 10, 2003, she was appointed Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy in the Swedish Government. As a consequence of the change of government following the 2006 government election, she left office on October 6, 2006, and in 2008 was appointed the governor of Gävleborg County.[1]

Holmberg was born in Stensele, Västerbotten. She has a degree in social work from the Department of Social Work, Stockholm University.

She has been married twice. Her marriage with radio journalist Thomas Nordegren produced three children: one son, Axel and twin daughters Elin and Josefin. Elin Nordegren was married to Tiger Woods, an American professional golf player. Holmberg has two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie, both children of her daughter Elin and Woods.
