Bardon Hill F.C. is a football club based in Bardon, near Coalville, Leicestershire, England. They currently play in the East Midlands Counties League, having joined from the Leicestershire Senior League at the end of the 2007–08 season.
History
Football at Bardon Hill has been a feature of village life for 100 years, although a small community with a population of no more than 500 people at any one time, sport has always figured strongly.
Shortly after world war two the football club joined forces with the village cricket club to become a sports club served by the same committee, the club then played at woodside next to St.Peters church. This was at a time when local rivalry was strong, and upon occasions in the 1970s every member of the cricket 1st XI had played football for Bardon.
In these days the club played in the now defunct Coalville & District league, youth teams and a Sunday side were formed and because of this a second pitch was added. It is now used mainly as a training pitch. In the 1970s and 1980s the club played around the county in the South Leicester, Leicester & District an the North Leicestershire League before being elected to the Leicestershire Senior League for the 1994–95 Season in which seen the club move to its present home Bardon Close. Since then the development committee has been working hard steadily improving the facilities of both the football and cricket club in order to move the club to the next level. Floodlights were provided in the late 1990s, secure fencing in 2003, new changing rooms and a spectator stand were added in 2008. A further stand and a community centre has already been planned. The club were crowned East Midlands Counties League champions in 2014/15 and were promoted to the Midland Football League Premier Division at step 5, the highest level the club has ever played at. Bardon also won the Leicestershire Senior Cup in 2014/15.
