Working with a range of employer clients including Siemens PLC,[6] Wm Morrisons Supermarkets and North Essex NHS Partnership Trust, Barking & Dagenham College focuses on creating work-ready students.[7]

Specialist off-campus training centres include the Motor Vehicle & Motorsport Training Centre, The Broadway Theatre (School for Performing Arts and Technical Theatre), Barking Learning Centre and The Technical Skills Academy (TSA) in Barking.[8]

Some courses are offered in partnership with Havering College of Further and Higher Education at the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence, under the name Thames Gateway College.[9] Some of the college's courses are delivered through the Barking Learning Centre.[10]
