Barrie-James O'Neill (born 20 December 1987) is an Scottish singer, songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. O'Neill started songwriting at the age of 20. On 1 February 2014, as the founder and frontman of the band Kassidy, O'Neill, left the band and moved to Los Angeles, he adopted the stage name "Nightmare Boy" as a solo artist. He has released two singles and an EP.[1][2]

Career

In 2013, During his time in Los Angeles, California, O'Neill had worked on variety projects. One of which was a collaboration with American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey on a duet of the song “Summer Wine,” made famous by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra. His debut single "Mary", was released on February 17, 2014. On March 24, O'Neill released the four track extended play Hate online[3] On May 8, 2014 O'Neill announced plans to launch a short film titled SCUMBaG. It was filmed in late 2013 to early 2014, directed by Joe Rubalcaba.[4][5] The short film premiered on May 8, 2015. O'Neill and music producer Crada were rumored to be working together at a recording studio. On June 25, 2015, O'Neill stated on Twitter that his debut studio album 'Cold Coffee' is completed with thanks to Rob Schnapf.[6]

His debut full-length album, titled Cold Coffee, was released On 8 April 2016.[7]

"Angel Tears" was officially released as O'Neill's debut single on March 11, 2016. The song received mixed reviews from critics, who praised O'Neill's vocals. An accompanying lyric video, edited by Joe Rubalcaba, premiered around the web on March 11, 2016.[8]
