Barry Kopetz
Barry E. Kopetz (born 1951) is an American music composer and conductor. Dr. Kopetz is currently (as of April 2014) the head of the music department at Mississippi State University. He was previously the professor of conducting and Director of Bands at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. His shoulder condition has led to a decrease in Dr. Kopetz's ability to conduct at a high volume, like he has for over a decade at Capital. Prior to his appointment there, he was a professor of music at the University of Utah, where he founded the Salt Lake Symphonic Winds.
