Barry Lee Stowe (born 1958/59) is an American business executive, the chairman and CEO of Prudential plc's North American business unit (encompassing Jackson National Life, PPM America and National Planning Holdings). Jackson is a Lansing, Michigan-based US life insurance company with US$218 billion in assets in 2015, and a subsidiary of Prudential plc.
Early life
Stowe is a seventh-generation Nashvillian.[2] He graduated from Lipscomb Academy in 1975, and from Lipscomb University with degree in politics in 1979. He was honored as Lipscomb's Alumnus of the Year in 2009.
Career
Stowe was CEO of Prudential Corporation Asia from October 2006 to June 2015. He was named chairman and CEO of Prudential plc's North American business unit (encompassing Jackson National Life, PPM America and National Planning Holdings) effective June 1, 2015. He has served on the board of directors and group executive committee of Prudential plc since October 2006.[1]
Personal life
He is married to Sherri Stewart Stowe, and they have three daughters. He serves as a trustee of Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art.
