Baso Sangqu

Baso Sangqu (born 21 April 1968, in Idutywa, Eastern Cape)[1] is the South African permanent representative to the United Nations. He was appointed on 17 March 2009, having served as deputy previously.

Sangqu was a member of the International Criminal Court search committee to find a replacement for Luis Moreno-Ocampo.[2]

In January 2012, Sangqu was the President of the United Nations Security Council.
