Basta (Sl. No.: 37) is a Vidhan Sabha constituency of Balasore district, Odisha.[1]
Area of this constituency include Baliapal block and 11 GPs (Mukulishi, Brahmanda, Sadanandapur, Baharda, Rautpada, Mathani, Sahada, Naikudi, Gadapada, Darada and Irda) of Basta block. [2][3]
In 2009 election, Biju Janata Dal candidate Raghunath Mohanty defeated Indian National Congress candidate Jaynarayan Mohanty by a margin of 9,530 votes.[4]
